I made my first two visits to the Carroll campus since my retirement in October ( the Old Main Society Donors Recognition Dinner and Homecoming) and returned a third time in December to attend a Christmas brunch for emeriti faculty. It was sad to return knowing that a dear, beloved, colleague, Pete Settle, who epitomized so much of what Carroll claims to value, had recently passed away.
Though I still am struggling to understand what it MEANS to be a Carroll emeritus faculty, it truly is joyful to continue to connect or reconnect with individuals from the Carroll Community who impacted my life. That, of course, includes former (and a few presents) students.
